Mayor's Civic Award 2021
Mayor's Special Award
The Mayor’s Civic Awards are a series of awards that recognise people who serve the Macclesfield community. In 2022, Covid-19 lockdowns and safety measures prevented the former Mayor of Macclesfield, Cllr Sarah Bennett-Wake (Mayor of Macclesfield 2020 - 21), from holding the traditional Thanksgiving Service and Civic Award Ceremony in the spring of her mayoral term.
To ensure that all recipients received their award, the former Mayor met them individually to present their certificate and badge and express gratitude for their services to Macclesfield.
Ameera Fletcher, director of Cre8, was delighted to meet with Cllr Sarah Bennett-Wake outside The House, Cre8's main hub, to be presented with the Mayor's Special Award in recognition of her commitment to supporting the charity.
On receipt of the award, Ameera said "I am continuing a wonderful journey with Cre8 starting as a Trustee in 2011 and encouraged by various community members, and becoming the Director of Cre8 in 2018, it is a privilege to be able to serve the community doing work that I am so passionate about."
