Look what we found!
Before Cre8 moved into The Cre8 House (11 and 13 Belgrave Road) in 2008, it was occupied by Poolswood Family Centre. Here are some photos of the two houses before and during the remodelling when it first became the Family Centre. Not sure what year that would be?! Maybe 2004/5?!
Cre8 didn't do the construction work - but we did do the garden and grounds! We made a large tarmaced area for the children to ride around on their bikes and a robust storage shed for the play equipment!
This work was the beginning of our One to One Education project and Cre8 Works. During the day, young people who were hanging about (and should've been at school but weren't) would come round the back of the houses to see what we were doing. And Cre8 people (mostly volunteers), who were clearing/digging/tarmacing/building/planting, engaged with them. Got them helping out, chatted with them, and shared food and brews. And eventually got in touch with school to see if we could do anything to help get them back into school.
Some of these young people (now young adults!) now work and volunteer with Cre8. They're involved with projects to engage and reconnect other young people with school and work. They are passionate and committed and know from their own experiences how Cre8 can make a difference.

We had a great time meeting the High Sheriff of Cheshire last week!
What an amazing lady - really encouraging and inspiring. She instantly understood what Cre8 was about and why it's important. She was great with the young people she met and made everyone feel at ease.
We are very grateful for her enthusiasm and support and hope she enjoys the last few weeks of her time as High Sheriff.
You can read the article she wrote about her visit to Cre8 on her website:
