Steps to Work

Step 1 - Outreach

Face to face recruitment of young people. This happens on the streets or at the front door of young people known to us. Our target is those Not in Employment Education or Training. We build a relationship and invite them to do some work.

Step 2 - Small Projects

Young People are given opportunity to work for reward.  The work consists of small internal projects and the reward may be a trip out or an activity such as a music session. This gives opportunity to slowly build basic work skills before any client facing opportunities.

 Step 3 - One-Off Work

Young people are given opportunity to work at a client’s site on a one-off trial basis. This is paid employment.  This step focuses on a young person learning about site conditions and requirements.

Step 4 - Employment

The is regular sustained employment. Young People are taken through a full employment process including application, references, and interview. The position is short term, ideally no more than 18 months, and focuses on a young person learning skills and doing training that will make them more employable. They are given regular supervision and the focus is progress and growth.

Step 5 - Moving On

Our aim is that young people gain experience and then move on. We pride ourselves on young people moving on and finding employment with others.
Work Bursary. If you want to support small project work we have set up an Enterprise Bursary. Any money within this bursary is spent providing young people small internal work experience projects.

Belonging
Throughout the process it is our aim to foster a sense of belonging. Young people are part of a working community and as such we not only work together but eat, play, go on residential, and generally live life together.

Health and Safety
Health and Safety at work is of paramount importance to Cre8. We provide clients with Risk Assessments and Method Statements for all the work we do. All employees go through inductions and are trained for the specific work they will do. Employees are provided with Personal Protective Equipment, PPE, as required by the work, and if the work is not safe we will stop.
